What FlipAI shows
When you take a photo of an item or scan its barcode, FlipAI identifies it and shows a price range. If it finds at least three matching live eBay listings, the range comes from their current asking prices (live listings, not sold prices). If it finds fewer, the range is an AI estimate.
Asking prices are not sold prices
An asking price is what a seller hopes to get. A sold price is what a buyer actually paid. Many items sell for less than their asking price, and some never sell at all. FlipAI shows asking prices from live eBay listings. It does not show sold prices.
Where to check sold prices
On eBay, Poshmark, Mercari and most other marketplaces, search for the item and use the marketplace's own sold or completed-sales filter, where one is offered. Compare several sales of the same item in the same condition, not just one.
Estimates are not guarantees
FlipAI's prices are estimates to help you decide what to buy and how to price it. They are not an appraisal, an offer or a guarantee of what you will get. What an item actually sells for depends on its condition, completeness, photos, demand, timing and fees. For high-value items, get a professional appraisal.
